Wedding FAQs

Award winning Hampshire wedding photographer - Bride and Groom portraits by Martin Bell Photography

Are you a full time wedding photographer?

Yes. I put my heart and soul into each wedding that I am a part of and I absolutely love what I do, I really could not think of doing anything else.

Do you have business insurance?

Yes of course! I have both public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

What equipment do you use?

I use two Sony A9 cameras which are completely silent when I need them to be. Working in churches and during the reception drinks completely silently means I can get photographs that some other photographers cannot. I also have a vast array of back up cameras and lenses if I need to use them.

Can you hold our wedding date?

Unfortunately I can’t hold a particular date without having received the £350 non-refundable booking fee and a signed contract. Once these have been received your date is secure.

What’s the best way to get in touch?

You can get in touch here or give me a call on 07834 686633 to check on my availability and request a detailed brochure.

How do we book you?

A signed contract and £350 non-refundable booking fee are required to secure your wedding date in my diary.

What is included within your wedding packages?

Please find a summary of my photography collections here or to receive a full brochure of all of the collections on offer please get in touch via my contact page.

How long will it take to see our wedding photos?

Generally it will take up to 6 weeks for you to receive all of your wedding photographs. The exact time will vary and can also increase during the busy summer months. Your highlights slideshow will be with you within the first 3 weeks after your wedding day.

How many photographs will we receive?

You will receive at least 450 images, usually a lot more but the amount will vary as every wedding is different. I will leave in as many as possible, however I can not present every image taken as some will be duplicates.

How do we receive our wedding photographs?

All of your wedding photographs will be available to download directly from your private online gallery in both colour and in black & white – this is included as standard with all of my wedding collections.

Do all of our wedding photographs get edited?

Yes, every single image that is presented within your client gallery will be edited in my signature style. You will even receive all of them in black and white too.

Are travel costs included?

Yes, travel is included within a 50 mile radius of my home in Stubbington, Fareham. I do photograph weddings further afield and in these circumstances travel expenses would need to be discussed prior to placing a booking with me.

Will you back up our wedding photographs?

Of Course! I back up the images to at least 2 separate hard drives to ensure that they are safe. In addition to this, your images will also be stored online in your gallery for a minimum of 1 year.

What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

Unfortunately living in England we can’t always guarantee glorious weather. However in the event that it is raining on your wedding day do not worry, I always carry large umbrellas that we can use and although I might get a bit wet, I would rather continue to capture great images for you and make the most of the surroundings. My vast experience with artificial lighting also makes it easy for me to light any indoor scenario quickly and easily too.

Do you offer wedding albums?

There are a range of wedding albums on offer to you with each album designed bespoke to your wedding photographs. All of my wedding albums are produced by the leading album supplier in the world – Queensberry – who are based in New Zealand. You can view all of the albums on offer here.

What is the license included with the photographs?

The photographs that I produce for you are licensed to print and share online with your friends and family.

Do you have a second photographer?

No. The style of my photography requires me to be able to capture fleeting moments and document your day as I see it. If another photographer is within the frame for a certain moment, then that moment is lost which could be a key moment from your wedding. Your guests also won’t appreciate too many photographers as they will feel like they are being followed by the paparazzi throughout your wedding day 😉

What happens if you are ill on the day?

I will power through!…Honestly…I won’t let feeling unwell stop me or interfere with your wedding day. In a more serious scenario, I do maintain reciprocal relationships with other fantastic wedding photographers who can offer standby support if such an event was to unfortunately occur.

Do you travel for weddings?

Why yes of course. I travel all across the UK and have even photographed weddings in destinations such as Italy.

In two words how would you describe yourself?

Caring and Empathetic

In three words how would you describe your photography?

Natural, Emotive & storytelling.
