Creating a selection of engagement photos from 2015 was a lot more difficult than I originally thought when I planned to do this post. To date this year I have photographed 25 engagement photo shoots across the UK and on average I will produce 40 photographs from each session. This means I had roughly 1000 engagement photos to look through and choose my favourites, needless to say my eyes are now a little sore but at the same time it gave me time to reflect on what an incredible year it has been.
Engagement photo shoots are are included as part of every collection I offer as a wedding photographer because I feel it is such a great opportunity to get to know each other and for the couple to get used to being in front of a camera before their wedding day. As an ex professional dancer I am used to being in front of the camera a fair bit but I completely understand that not everyone is and some may be a little camera shy. During the engagement shoot I aim to break down any boundaries and always start a little further away, enabling each couple to forget that I am there. This allows me to capture some fleeting moments which come and go in an instance. Generally these are the photographs that couples love and choose to have framed because they are real moments and not forced, the couple being themselves so to speak. This way of photographing is also why couples choose me to photograph their wedding and makes my style so unique.
This year I have loved working with each and every one of my couples, they have been amazing and I feel very blessed as a photographer to play such an important role in one of the most special days in their lives. I hope you enjoy the collection of engagement photos from 2015 below and if you are planning to get married please feel free to get in touch, I promise I won’t bite 😉 Alternatively please feel free to head over to my wedding page to view my wedding portfolio.
