What a wedding!! A wonderful couple, an outstanding venue in Spitbank Fort and a truly lovely set of guests. I have photographed a lot of weddings since moving to Hampshire a couple years ago and this is up there with the very best that I have attended. The attention to detail from the venue is second to none and oozes a quite unique atmosphere that all of the guests and their betrothed couple lapped up in abundance.
My day started with a short boat ride from Royal Clarence Marina to Spitbank Fort and after arriving I went straight to see Emma for her Bridal Preparations. After capturing some quite remarkable photographs in the Bridal Suite I went to find the Groom, Martin. When I found him he was a little nervous, which is to be expected on the morning of his wedding, but there was a buzz about him which made for some lovely photographs. The ceremony was full of emotion and anticipation which was followed by a boat ride for Emma, Martin and myself around the Solent. The rest of the day was just perfect for them and before they knew it, the bouquet had been thrown and they were into their first dance as a married couple. For their first dance I suggested doing it outside to give them the sunset and seascape backdrop which would make their photographs unique. This, coupled with a solo acoustic guitarist, made the results simply stunning.
The wedding venue – Spitbank Fort, one of the luxurious venues from the prestigious ‘Amazing Venues’ chain – really is remarkable in every sense of the word. With it’s beautiful museum-like rooms to the secret passage way around the fort there is something for everyone. For me it is the small things that make a difference with a wedding venue and Spitbank Fort really does tick all the right boxes as you would expect from a 5* venue. The attention to detail is second to none and this venue oozes a simply unique atmosphere that all of the guests and the betrothed couple lapped up in abundance. I cannot recommend this venue highly enough and if you are interested in taking a look please follow the link below to their website.
It was a true honour to be a part of Emma and Martin’s special day and I wish them a long and happy future together. Please take time to have a look at a small collection of the magical day they shared at Spitbank Fort.
