Sophie & Craig’s Military wedding at the Hospital of St Cross in Winchester
I do really love a military wedding and when that is coupled with fantastic people it really makes for a very special wedding day. From start to finish Sophie & Craig’s Hospital of St Cross wedding was so much fun to be a part of and produced some of the best moments I have captured through the entirety of 2018.
This was the first time I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at the Hospital of St Cross and it is a truly beautiful setting. A stunning church is the central focus of the grounds with beautifully manicured gardens surrounding it, the perfect setting for Sophie & Craig’s special day. With church weddings I am always a little apprehensive being a photographer as some churches can be quite restrictive with what I can and can’t photograph with a lot designating a spot right at the back off the church for myself. For this wedding however, the vicar was absolutely amazing and allowed me to be at the front of the church to capture all of the action head on. Something that really makes a huge difference to photographs I produce.
As I said earlier, this wedding had so many wonderful moments and it is extremely hard to choose a highlight however I will say that one moment which stands out above all others would be Craig’s reaction to seeing his beloved Sophie walking down the aisle. It really was an extremely emotional moment to witness. This wedding also had the grandest guard of honour I haver photographed and was easily the craziest dance floor of the year too – top marks for some awesome dance moves guys!!
Sophie & Craig, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making feel like part of your family. I feel so privileged to have witnessed you both getting married and I wish you a lifetime of happiness together.
Please enjoy the couples highlights slideshow and the small collection of photographs below which tell their story perfectly.
